Who is St. George?
St. George is most commonly known as the patron
saint of equestrians. He was a courageous knight whose remarkable
ability to rally the troops led him to be widely perceived as the
saint of battles. His great legend is the story of being summoned
by the king to slay a horrible beast terrorizing a region in a faraway
land. He valiantly fought the creature and was rewarded by the king
with many bags of gold. Seeing that the townspeople of this region
were in dire straights, he gave the gold to them knowing it would
ensure peace and prosperity to a community that struggled for so
long.
Why is St. George representative of our company?
St. George understood that true wealth comes
from the prosperity of whole communities and not one individual.
He worked hard for a living but still felt the need to make a difference
for the generations to come.
What is the purpose of St. George Tack?
Our company was founded by a professional equestrian
dismayed by the lack of media interest and funding for a sport so
diversified, it can go from a work of art as seen in dressage and
hunt seat, to the exciting drama that unfolds for the jumper and/or
eventer. When USET president David O'Connor was questioned about
the Federation's rsolution to this problem, he stated that the quickest
path would have to come from industry retailers luring outside industries
through their successful numbers and ability to act as a liason.
Hence, St. George Tack was born.
Why should I buy from St. George Tack?
Although it seems ludicrous to break into a
market already full of great gear, the premise is a simple trickle
down economics. Our endpoint is to create a company that is strong
and viable in earnings as well as demographics. This is the bottom
line outside industries need to see when we pitch our proposals
for future funding. When outside industries start to feed our machine,
it will free up money that can be spent by athletes at your tack
shop. It will enable professionals to hire more instructors and
buy more horses to increase their student base. These students will
need to be properly outfitted at your tack shop as well. We hope
to use larger companies to influence media coverage and reach a
new group of people looking to embrace the equestrian lifestyle.
Where and how is St. George Tack made?
St. George tack and saddles are constantly evolving.
We have professional riders in the U.S. and abroad that are introducing
us to textile contacts for everything from buckles to leather. Our
French contacts supply the leather, rubber for our reins is courtesy
of England and buckles from Holland I offer as an example. Most
of our products are made in Morocco. Many professional athletes
have great ideas and great contacts for the gear they like to use.
Unfortunately, their time spent competing prohibits them from having
their items come to fruition. St. George gives them a stake in our
company and our customers are assured that these products are tested
by individuals who spend an enormous amount of time in the saddle.
Do you do wholesale and retail?
For us, this was a double edged sword. Many
tack shops have alluded to the fact that if we do retail we are
infringing on their business. On the other hand, many tack shops
are leary of doing business with a company that has no brand name
recognition. We would absolutely prefer to send interested parties
to their favorite tack shop. Our staff encourages customers to have
their tack shop contact us directly if they reach us by phone or
via e-mail. Our staff was hired because of their background in fund
raising, marketing and corporate business. The successful implementation
of this project will allow them to spend their time courting the
outside money that will make everyone prosperous.
What about customer service and return policies
for such a new company?
We are sure that our standards will fit your
needs and satisfy your customer. There is no restocking fee for
merchandise returned. If it doesn't move off your shelf we'd prefer
you send it back and get stuff that does. If the gear doesn't fit
or the color didn't work, let us know. We hope they can find another
product of ours, but a refund is always better knowing that our
line is ever changing and in the future we may have just what they
are looking for.
